Charitable status granted:
We have been extremely fortunate with the Charities Commission and have now been registered as a Charity. Our efforts
will now be focusssed on fund raising!
NCAS (National Clinical Assessment Service) Annual Conference, 21 January 2008, London
Overdue Business-Supporting the health of health practitioners
We established important links with health practitioners and agencies (e.g. Sick Doctors Trust) concerned with the
health, including mental health and addictions, of health practitioners.
Funding is available for treatment aimed at special services for health practitioners-called PHP2. We will be bidding
for this funding.
Objectives of this conference were to:
- Build awareness about health concerns in doctors and dentists and the impact on practitioner's performance
- Provide information about work being undertaken to respond to the health recommendations in the White Paper, Trust,
Assurance and Safety and seek views on proposals
- Showcase the fiversity of work in this field and the range of interventions
- Share NCAS' and others' experience of practitioners with health problems
- Increase/develop participants' knowledge and skills for managing practitioners where health concern may impact on their
performance
